All of our dog treat packaging is 100% plastic-free, biodegradable & compostable. Made from wood-pulp, cellulose and paper sourced from sustainably grown forests.
So you can simply pop our packs in the regular bin and they will break down in 30 weeks in landfill (not 300 years like most plastic dog treat packs).

Who is ecologi?

Ecologi are a non-profit organisation that plant trees & fund the world’s best climate crisis solutions.

They are on a mission to plant 1 BILLION trees! Denzel's are proud to help do our bit to help them achieve this, you can help too! Learn more by clicking here.
It’s now common knowledge that one of the best tools to tackle the climate crisis and keep our temperatures from rising above 1.5C is to plant trees and restore the world's forest. They are also crucial to preventing ecological collapse.

Our tree planting partner works with 'The Eden Reforestation Projects' who plant millions of trees around the world each month. We are currently supporting their incredible work in Madagascar.

In planting trees for every order of Denzel's healthy treats, we can together offset trees used for our packaging whilst also doing our bit to save the planet. FYI. Your pooch will thank you too!

You will receive an email from Denzel with an attached certificate confirming that we have planted a tree in Denzel's forest on your behalf. You can check it out at www.ecologi.com/denzels. The planting sites are routinely audited by third parties to check the reported number of healthy trees are growing. Eden Reforestation Projects, the largest tree-planting partner, has a brilliant track record of meeting the reported numbers of trees. Please contact them if you want to see copies of these reports.
We work with our tree-plating partner Ecologi, to support reforestation projects around the world! By visiting Denzel's forest at www.ecologi.com/denzels, you can view the location of the trees we have planted to date in partnership with these projects.
Trees are one of the best tools we have in removing carbon pollution from our atmosphere. All of the trees in Denzel's forest quietly remove carbon from the atmosphere over their lifetimes. The trees you are funding are doing sterling work sucking up atmospheric carbon, and mangrove trees – which make up the majority of our tree-planting activities – are especially capable. Based on scientific research of mangrove forests, we know that a hectare of mangroves can sequester 3,082 tonnes of CO2 over a 25 year life time. Or 308KG per tree.
Not just yet... The trees you’re funding right now are years away from doing their thing. Until they are several years old, your baby trees are not mature enough to sequester carbon in large quantities. Of course – your trees are still out there, quietly sucking up carbon all the same!

Yes! Monoculture forests and non-native species do not fall under the category of responsible reforestation. As one example, at planting sites in Madagascar, The Eden Reforestation Projects are planting over 50 different species, including: Avicinia marina, Rhizophora mucronata, Ceriops tagal, Bruguiera gymnoohiza.
In order for a planting site to be developed, the native population must have explicitly agreed to the project and must benefit from the project in its entirety. With planting in Madagascar, the project is done with permission from the owners of the indigenous land, in conjunction with the government. Local communities benefit from many aspects of the project, such as 2.4 million work days that have been created, access to fruit harvesting, and many other economic benefits of restoring deforested land.
Yes! Eden Reforestation Project’s mission is to provide fair wage employment to impoverished villagers as agents of global forest restoration. They hire people in rural villages in developing countries to grow, plant and guard to maturity native forests on a massive scale. Their “Employ to Plant” methodology results in multiplication of positive socioeconomic and environmental outcomes.
